Railway projects are extensive, and the planning stage proceeds in progressive steps. The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency was responsible for the previous planning stages for the rail link. Turku One Hour Train Ltd is in charge of the railway planning for the project, following which we can proceed to the construction of the rail link. According to the project timetable, planning will be completed by the end of 2023.

Turku One Hour Train Ltd will produce five railway plans for the rail link between Helsinki and Turku, which are developed further toward the construction stage as individual entities.

The currently on-going railway planning stage is estimated to be completed by the end of 2023. After this, we move to the administrative stage, where the plans are made public. At this point, residents, landowners, and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to submit their comments on the plans.

The railway plans will be approved by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom The objective is to have the final, legally valid plans at the beginning of 2025. Railway plans will remain valid for four years.

After the approval decision, an investment decision can be taken, which will allow us to begin construction. The expropriation of the necessary land and properties will become relevant after the investment decision.

The railway line’s construction planning, construction, and commissioning will take place in 2025–2031. The commissioning and testing of the railway line can begin during the later years of the project.
